Capital Air coming soon Via Chinese Internet9 February 2010 The Chinese HNA Group is to rename its Deer Air subsidiary carrier as Capital Air.
February 9: The China Business News reports that the HNA Group, parent company of Hainan Airlines, is to rename its Deer Air subsidiary carrier as Capital Air in a partnership with the Beijing municipal government.
Deer Air currently operates 19 A319s, primarily on charter services. The report says that HNA will retain a controlling interest in the new airline, and the Beijing Tourism Group will represent the government’s interests. The airline will be based at Beijing Capital International Airport.
